Separate design from color

How new clock designs share the same measurement, color, and persistence behavior.

Keep design and color independent

Rendering is separate from measurement, NTP, and persistence, so changing a clock design does not change time calculations or timer state. Settings and external controls use the same design catalogue, and previews and the app use the same drawing components.

Colors for the background, analog clock, digital clock, and timers are saved separately. Changing a design preserves the selected colors and settings of the other parts.

The same clock in a small window or full screen

Digits, colons, and spacing are measured, then scaled to fit the available panel. Shared rendering keeps the selected design consistent in settings previews, clocks, and timers.

Development build 0.2.59 records six analog designs and four digital designs. The home page samples use unchanged images rendered from the app's drawing code. The image labels remain in Japanese.

Experiments set aside from the initial scope

In 0.2.18, speech, second ticks, chimes, finish sounds, Nixie and Luminous designs, and message displays such as ON AIR were set aside pending a clearer concept. Their presence in older records does not make them current features.

Future additions

More designs are planned. New designs will continue to share colors, layouts, and measurement behavior. This is not a system for users to load external JSON skins or plugins.
