Note: This article is more than one year old.
- Generative models such as ChatGPT change their output formats, terms, and pricing between versions. Check the latest terms for commercial use and training-data policies.
- Do not run generated 3D instructions or scripts without checking them. Mismatched tool versions or assumptions can produce broken data.
- I recommend keeping confidential information out of inputs sent to external services.
I will use Character Creator 4 to make a 3D model from an AI-generated office worker.
I created the office worker with ChatGPT.
Let's turn him into a 3D model.
Character Creator 4 (CC4) is Reallusion's 3D character creation software.
It is designed to work alongside iClone 8.
I generated an image of an office worker in ChatGPT.
ChatGPT tended to leave a shadow on one side of the face, and I could not get rid of it. A shadow in the source image would also darken the 3D model's face, so I composited the image in Photoshop to remove it.
I used Headshot v2, another paid plugin, of course. I forget whether it cost $200. It can create a 3D model from a photograph. Like iClone 8, Reallusion's Character Creator 4 seems to require extra paid plugins for everything you want to do.
I dropped in the photograph and adjusted the settings.
It took a while to calculate.
There was the finished 3D model. It looked reasonably similar, didn't it?
I added hair with a similar look. Ah, another paid asset. Was it $100? I also added a beard. I think that was paid too.
Character Creator 4 alone, despite costing a few hundred dollars with its many sales and coupons, cannot do all of this. Spend a few hundred dollars more and you can enjoy those extra features. Wonderful. Oh! He is still naked.
Let's give him clothes. The suit costs extra as well. Was it around $100?
I added trousers too.
Comparing the faces, the jaw was not broad enough. Let's enlarge it.
I narrowed the temples and maximized the jaw setting. Other parameters might bring it closer.
It was still a little different, but looked much better. Fine adjustments to the forehead, ears, chin, and other features should make it closer.
From the side, it looked very close to the AI image.
Looking good.
That is how I turned a ChatGPT-generated office worker into a fully 3D character with Character Creator 4. With enough courage to keep paying for extras, anything is possible!
I animated him in iClone 8.
