Frequently asked questions
Does the app correct the Windows clock?
Correction applies within the app. It does not change the Windows clock or synchronization settings.
Where do I choose ticking sounds and voices?
Move the pointer to the top left of a clock and left-click its gear. Choose a ticking sound for the analog clock, or a voice and interval for the digital clock. Use individual sound icons or the header mute control to turn sounds off.
Why does a time-based timer wait for NTP?
When NTP correction is selected, time-based timers wait for the first valid response. You can also choose a countdown duration or a count-up timer.
Does the timer play a finish sound?
Choose a standard beep or one of ten singing bowls, with sound settings for each timer. Target-time timers have separate advance and on-time sounds. Check individual sound settings and the master mute if you hear no sound.
Does a timer keep running after I close the app?
Closing the app ends measurement. On the next launch, previously running countdowns restart from their full saved duration, count-up timers restart from zero, and target-time timers use the next occurrence of the saved time. The previous remaining or elapsed time is not carried over. Simply hiding a timer does not stop measurement.
Are transparency and position lock the same?
They are separate settings. Transparency removes the background and frame. Position lock prevents moving and resizing and passes clicks and scrolling through to the app behind it.
How do I bring an off-screen clock back?
Right-click the clock icon in the Windows system tray and choose the option to bring it back on screen. Check the hidden tray icons too.
How do the basic controls work?
Move the pointer to the top to reveal display and settings controls. Use each clock gear for design and sound, and timer +/− buttons to add or remove timers. Drag panels with the middle mouse button and dividers with the left mouse button.
Does millisecond display guarantee millisecond accuracy?
Display resolution and time accuracy are different. Network delay and server responses affect accuracy, so the app does not guarantee millisecond accuracy.
